Designed for Ariake, the Lattice Table explores the subtle balance between openness and solidity. Its legs are formed through a rhythmic wooden lattice, where structure is revealed through repetition, spacing, and light. From certain angles, the construction reads as a continuous surface, calm and composed. From others, it dissolves into transparency, allowing light and shadow to articulate the form.
Inspired by architectural shutters and screens used to temper daylight, the table carries a quiet architectural presence. The measured repetition of its elements recalls the facades of traditional Japanese shops and restaurants, where utility and restraint come together in a composed, human scale expression. The result is a table that feels both grounded and light, structural yet atmospheric.
