At Rho Fiera, the Karimoku Case exhibition, finished with a harmonious color palette, created a muted and comfortable refuge from the bright and busy days in Salone Del Mobile. Shadows are often an overlooked aspect of spatial design, yet they provide the necessary conditions to awaken more of our senses. Touch, taste, hearing, and smell gain heightened sensitivity when we’re unburdened by excessive visual stimuli. By equally embracing shadow and light, the exhibition unlocked a fuller sensory experience.
It has been our ambition to showcase the Karimoku Case collection in a natural setting, in many ways resembling the architectural cases that the furniture pieces were originally designed for. The entrance to the booth has been created with inspiration found in the Japanese “Engawa” – best described as the area that marks the boundary between inside and outside – a pathway or “porch” – making the exhibition space itself feel welcoming and homely
