The Grand Café was conceived as an immersive architectural setting for Audo, created in collaboration with Art Director Christian Møller Andersen. Drawing on the spirit of Italy’s historic salons, the exhibition unfolded through a sequence of interconnected spaces, from lounge to café to dining hall.
Rather than presenting design in isolation, the installation framed furniture and objects within a lived environment shaped by rhythm, proportion, and materiality. References to Italian historicism and early modernism informed a spatial language that balanced monumentality with intimacy, creating a setting for pause, gathering, and connection.
At its core, The Grand Café reflected a shared belief that design is best understood in context, through the atmosphere it creates, the rituals it supports, and the way it becomes part of everyday life.
